Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathy is an independent field of the healing arts that entails a broad scope of modalities, this can be practiced as a stand alone or in a complimentary perspective. It is grounded in the principles and strong belief that the body has an innate ability to recover and regenerate. The main goal of the practice is to re-establish a balance in the body for it to function properly, this includes proper elimination of toxins and good functioning of the organs and their connections.
Nature, now a days is actually quite far away from man kind that it has ever been before. The vast majority of human kind has lost its connection and understanding with nature, being alienated from plants and the medicine that it possesses. The Naturopath aims to bring you back to our roots, to be connected once more with nature, which has always been good for our health.
The common man is in fact unaware of the dangers and perils that surround him, those dangers come as close as the very things that touch your skin everyday to the things that you ingest which you were lead to believe is good for you. Awareness and consciousness of all things around you is an essential skill to achieving good health, which is one of the reasons why learned Naturopaths can be of great help to someone in need of healing.
Health and the balance thereof, doesn’t always mean that you have to ingest something to get better, oftentimes it’s what you take away from your diet, rather than what you add to it. Sometimes it would be a combination of both, what you should be avoiding and what you should be ingesting.
Restoring balance to your health is a step in a complex process of healing, getting there is one thing, another thing would be to maintain that. The quick-fix mentality and the intense desire to always have instant cures and instant gratification is not how nature is. In a deeper sense, a quick fix mentality gives us an escape and reason to stay with the bad habits and lifestyle we sometimes have. Someone cannot heal in an environment that made that person sick. The potency and medicinal values of plants in nature are oftentimes underrated or washed away by those with ulterior motives.
As nearly everything in the world needs, maintenance is key. Ecosystems are maintained by the species that live in it, the weather, the landscape to name a few. Cars need their maintenance, oil changes, the engine and all its other components. The Human body is the towering masterpeice of Gods creation, and maintenance is of great importance to sustain the wellbeing of this masterpeice and many of the great nutrients needed to keep the human body is found in nature.
The life we live is finite, and the best we can do is to care for the body we have to sustain the best health that we can possibly achieve, and to enjoy the rest of creation with peace and Love. These to me are what I believe to be the top goals as a Naturopath.
